I’m a global health consultant with over 8 years of experience leading teams and forging partnerships in global health and biosecurity. I'm committed to preparing the world against health emergencies and promoting equity through my research, advocacy, and consultancy.

My career has included impactful roles at OpenAI, the United Nations, World Health Organization (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and more, focusing on health emergencies, healths systems resilience, and global health policy. I've also advised the Government of Canada on global health strategies. I am currently Faculty at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

I hold a PhD in International Health Systems from Johns Hopkins, an MPH in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Columbia, and a BSc in Cell Biology from McGill.

I am the co-founder of Let Science Connect, where we empower experts via workshops and training to communicate science more effectively. I’m also a frequent speaker and panellist at high-profile events, including the WEF’s Annual Meeting in Davos.

My passion for inclusive youth participation in decision-making has led me to serve as the Canadian head delegate for the G7 Youth Summit in Germany and represent Canada at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos.

Fluent in French, English, and Nepali, and a former nationally-ranked chess player, I bring a diverse and dynamic approach to global health advocacy and leadership.

  • • Co-design, continuously enhance and deliver course content to graduate students with a focus on applied communications and media interviews as well as mis and disinformation

  • • Health systems technical expert supporting the GFF’s monitoring of essential health services disrupted due to COVID-19

    • Facilitate partnerships between a range of stakeholders, including public and private sectors, Ministries of Health, multilateral organizations, and external research teams

    • Lead the design and implementation of facility assessments in various GFF countries, playing a crucial role in evaluating the impact of the pandemic on health services

    • Act as the technical co-lead for internal survey teams conducting rapid assessments of facilities regarding the disruption of essential services due to COVID-19

    • Spearhead knowledge translation, and dissemination activities for specific countries including Bangladesh, Vietnam, and francophone-speaking countries

  • ▪ Manage and lead a team of 15 in a BMGF-funded project focusing on the future of pandemic prevention and preparedness using a One Health lens, including designing and conducting both qualitative and quantitative research

    ▪ Develop short-term and long-term strategies for the project’s scope of work, which included initiating and managing collaborative initiatives and presentations with international collaborators such as Wellcome Trust, WHO, academic universities, private partners etc.

    ▪ Identify key structural variables exacerbating health emergencies, develop a conceptual framework on health emergencies preparedness through a social determinants of health lens

    ▪ Key contributor to the development of GPMB’s risk monitoring framework, the World Report on Health Equity

  • Advise the UN and CIHR in developing and mapping out a research roadmap for COVID-19 recovery, particularly with regards to global health systems.

    • Assess proposals for potential investments in new technology and research, focusing on impact on agricultural practices as well as empowerment of small-scale farmers

    • Assess and reimagine strategies for early warning systems through active stakeholder engagement and review of current best practices, offering insights on current climate adaptive practices in agriculture

    • Provided strategic input to the team’s overall vision, advocating for a shift towards investments in risk management and horizontal investments, as opposed to traditional crisis mitigation and vertical investments

  • ▪ Key co-author in a tripartite (WHO, OIE, FAO) monitoring and evaluation report evaluating the global progress on antimicrobial resistance through an assessment of national action plans and engagement with relevant stakeholders

    ▪ Co-hosted a public webinar with a domestic and international audience discussing results and their implications for the global governance of antimicrobial resistance and the role of country partners to invest in human, animal, and plant health

    ▪ Provided expert advice to the WHO AMR Secretariat on revising data collection methods and tools for better leveraging and collecting AMR data from country partners to inform decision-making, resource allocation, and policy development

  • ▪ Lead multiple projects and initiatives focused on the design of global institutions to more effectively address transnational health threats and social inequities

    ▪ Responsibilities included the development of research studies, protocols and manuscripts, collaboration with international experts and decision-makers, presentations and reports for external and internal stakeholders, grant-writing, data manipulation and analysis, knowledge translation undertakings, supervising a team of research assistants

    ▪ Selected key deliverables include lead for a journal special issue, author of three book chapters, a WHO report, international presentations for the Gates Foundation and the WHO, lead for two systematic reviews

  • ▪ Conduct in-depth investigations into global child maltreatment using a variety of methodologies including literature review, semi-structured interviews of key stakeholders, survey design, and the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data

    ▪ Develop tools to promote child protection within health systems and at the city-wide level, translating research findings into practical, actionable strategies

    ▪ Present and advocate for policy recommendations at health departments globally and domestically, including in Paris and New York City

    ▪ Collaborate with graduate students and faculty at the École des hautes études en santé publique in France

  • ▪ Engage with governmental, private, and non-profit partners to develop and implement strategies for refugee support in Quebec

    ▪ Lead French-Nepali consultant, providing specialized translation, interpreting, and supportive services for refugee families and relevant stakeholders across various sectors including legal, criminal, health, child protection and community

    ▪ Design and implement programs to support new refugee families and relevant organizations through careful coordination, planning and resource management in preparation to address housing, administrative, and clinical needs of new arrivals

    ▪ Design, organize, and facilitate workshops, discussions, and field sessions focused on physical and emotional well-being, community services, and other acute and long-term needs

    ▪ Work with a diverse range of clients including Child Protective Services, Ministry of Immigration of Canada, Ministry of Justice of Quebec, Quebec Provincial Police, SAAQ and local community centers, demonstrating a broad skill set in cross-cultural communication and program management
